Provisioning systems – precise, flexible, integrated

AfiPro develops, expands and maintains provisioning systems for the flexible feeding of a wide variety of components – all from a single source. Whether fully integrated or as a pre-mounted system. Our provisioning systems singulate, recognize, align and transfer parts gently to downstream processes – fast and repeatably.

Material feeding via hoppers, spiral conveyors or flip belts
Camera-based position & type recognition
Robot handling (SCARA/6-axis) with precise placement
Change set integration for quick product changes
Maintenance packages incl. software remote maintenance

Flexible Singulation

Feed, orient and singulate bulk material – with spiral conveyors and flip belts.

Reliable Position & Type Recognition

2D/3D camera recognizes position and part type, transfer to robot in exact position.

Service & Remote

High availability through maintenance contracts, spare parts service and software remote maintenance.

Intelligently provisioned

AfiPro provisioning systems combine feeding, position and type recognition with integrated robot handling into a robust, reliable system. From bulk material to precise handover of individual parts – always process-safe, gentle on components and repeatable.

Our modular design enables fast product changes with change sets, while intelligent design often makes retooling unnecessary. Clear structuring prevents loading errors and ensures smooth operation in continuous production.

Material Feeding

Hoppers, Spiral Conveyors & Flip Belts

  • Feeding parts as bulk material, in load carriers, or as single parts
  • Feeding load carriers for finished parts
  • Singulating and orienting bulk material in spiral conveyors or on flip belts
  • Clear structuring ensures smooth workflows without loading errors

In material feeding, components are transferred from bulk material into the process in a defined manner. Hoppers buffer fluctuating feed quantities, and spiral conveyors and flip belts take care of orienting and orderly singulation. This gives downstream stations—such as camera inspection or robot grippers—a stable arrival position and reproducible cycle times.

All modules are designed for cleanability, wear protection, and operator ergonomics. For product changes, change sets are swapped with minimal tooling and parameterized recipes are loaded.

Align & Singulate

Camera Recognition & Precise Handover

  • Singulation after spiral conveyor with a mechanical unit
  • With flip-belt singulation, position capture via camera system, position data is passed to the robot system
  • Picking up a single part or multiple parts with a robot
  • Automatic reject part ejection

The sorting and singulation stage ensures correct alignment and type assignment. Camera systems detect position, rotation and part class; the calculated pose is passed to the robot. This allows top/bottom parts or variants to be processed without changeover—incorrect or damaged parts are diverted to an NIO box.

The combination of sensor technology and a defined gripping strategy prevents damage to sensitive surfaces and reduces downtime caused by missing or faulty parts.

Buffer & Intermediate Storage

Buffer Lines & KLT Placement

  • Pattern-loaded buffers provide speed and cycle time reserve
  • Completeness check of all parts before handover
  • Provisioning of load carriers or boxes for finished-part placement
  • Can be combined with a directly downstream conveyor line for optimal material flow

Buffer lines, rotary tables and defined handover positions create cycle-time reserve and decouple processes. Completeness and presence checks ensure that only correctly loaded nests are handed over or placed in KLTs.

Depending on the application, operator stations, SCARA or 6-axis robots work together. Systems can operate autonomously or be fully integrated into MES/ERP—including traceability and audit trail.

Implementation Examples

Hopper feed, flip-belt singulation, 3-axis handover

  • Bulk material is fed via two hoppers
  • Singulation on flip belts
  • Position detection with camera system
  • 3-axis robot hands over aligned parts to belt conveyor
  • Parts are handed over to the downstream system
  • 8 variants can be processed without changeover
  • NIO part detection with ejection

Hopper feed, spiral conveyor, 3-axis loading

  • Steel sleeves are fed as bulk material
  • Aligned via spiral conveyor and transported to a pickup rail
  • Picked up by a 3-axis robot and placed on a handover table
  • Handover table rotates: loading on one side, transfer to the next process on the other

Feeding with Load Carriers

  • Parts are fed in trays via a conveyor line consisting of four belt conveyors
  • Camera system detects parts in trays and transmits data to a 6-axis robot
  • Robot removes parts from trays and hands them over to downstream processes
